FAQ
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Standard stock bottles: MOQ starts at 10,000 units per SKU. For custom mold bottles, the MOQ is typically 3,000–5,000 units depending on bottle complexity. Caps, pumps, and boxes can often be ordered separately with MOQs as low as 500–1,000 units.
We understand that emerging brands need flexibility. If your volume is below standard MOQ, please contact us — we evaluate these on a case-by-case basis and can sometimes accommodate smaller runs for repeat customers.
How do I order samples before committing to full production?
We offer two types of samples:
Stock samples — Available within 3–5 business days. A sample fee applies (refundable against your first production order). We ship worldwide via DHL or FedEx.
Pre-production samples (with custom decoration) — Once artwork is approved, decorated samples are ready in 7–14 business days. These reflect the exact finish, colour, and logo placement of your production run.
To request samples, use the Get a Quote form or email us directly with the bottle codes you’re interested in.
Can I mix different bottle styles in one order to reach the MOQ?
For standard (undecorated) bottles, mixing styles within the same product family is possible. For decorated or lacquered bottles, each colourway or finish typically requires its own MOQ, as the setup cost (colour mixing, spray equipment cleaning) is charged per run.
If you’re launching a collection with multiple bottle shapes, speak to us early — we can often plan production batches to reduce your total commitment.
What customisation and decoration options do you offer?
We offer the full range of standard fragrance packaging decoration techniques:
Colour lacquering
Hot stamping
Screen printing
Pad printing
Frosting / sandblasting
Metallisation
UV coating
Embossing / debossing
Custom colour matching (Pantone)
Logo placement, font engraving on caps, and full custom mold development are also available. Share your brand guidelines and we’ll advise on which technique best suits your substrate and finish.
Can you develop a completely custom bottle shape from scratch?
Yes. Our ODM service covers the full development cycle: concept sketch → 3D CAD → mold tooling → glass samples → production. Here’s a typical timeline:
3D design & approval | 2–3 weeks |
Mold tooling | 6–8 weeks |
First glass samples | 2–3 weeks after mold |
Sample revisions (if any) | 2–3 weeks per round |
Production after approval | 4–6 weeks |
Tooling costs vary by complexity (typically USD 3,000–8,000 for a standard perfume bottle mold) and are a one-time investment — the mold is yours.
Can you match a specific Pantone colour for lacquering?
Yes. Please provide your Pantone Coated (C) reference when submitting your brief. Our colour lab will mix and apply a test panel for your approval before any bulk coating begins. Note that glass substrates can create slight variations in colour perception compared to a flat Pantone swatch — we’ll show you a physical sample on glass before sign-off.
For metallics (gold, silver, bronze), we match to your chosen finish standard (matte, satin, or gloss).
What surface decoration techniques are available for luxury fragrance bottles - frosting, hotstamping, screen printing, or lacquering?
We offer a full suite of decorative finishes: acid-etched frosting, gloss and matte lacquering in any Pantone, UV screen printing (up to 4 colours), hot stamping with gold, silver, or custom foils, and metallisation. For closure customisation, we work with zamak, aluminium, ABS, and wood — each compatible with plating, brushing, or anodising. Our in-house decoration line means tighter lead times and colour consistency across the complete assembly.
Can you produce bespoke bottle moulds from a 3D design file, and what is the tooling ownershiparrangement?
Yes — we accept STEP, IGES, or SolidWorks files and run DFM (design for manufacturability) review within 5 business days. Tooling is fabricated in our own mould shop, giving us full control over cavity steel quality and revision cycles. Mould ownership transfers to the client after the first production run is invoiced and cleared. We also maintain your mould at no storage fee for up to three years, ensuring seamless reorders.
What neck finish standards do your bottles use? FEA15, SNI15…
Our bottles are available in the main international fragrance neck standards. The most common in our catalogue:
FEA15 | Most common globally. Compatible with the vast majority of crimp pumps. ~116 bottles in our range. |
SNI15 | Common in European niche perfumery. Screw-fit pump option available. ~23 bottles. |
CV15 | Used for higher-end atomisers. ~30 bottles. |
FEA20 | For larger formats (125ml+). ~3 bottles. |
EUR4 / EUR5 / EUR6 | European standard screw necks. Niche range. |
Are your pump heads compatible with your bottles?
Yes — we supply matched sets. Our pumps are tested for compatibility with our bottle range across all neck standards (FEA15, SNI15, CV15). When you order a bottle and pump from us, we confirm the fit before shipment.
If you are sourcing pumps from a third party, please share the pump’s neck standard and crimp diameter so we can verify compatibility with your chosen bottle.
Dip tube length is customisable to match your bottle height — specify the bottle model and fill volume when ordering.
What glass weight and wall-thickness tolerances can you hold for high-end perfume bottles, andhow does that affect pump fitment?
Our standard wall thickness for 50–100 ml fragrance bottles ranges from 3.5 mm to 5.5 mm, with a tolerance of ±0.3 mm across production runs. Heavier glass (above 180 g for a 50 ml unit) signals premium quality in the EU and North American luxury segment and also improves thermal stability. All bottle neck finishes are held to ±0.15 mm on the critical FEA 15 or FEA 20 sealing surface to guarantee consistent pump-head crimping without leakage.
What are your standard production lead times?
Stock bottles, undecorated | 7–14 business days (from order confirmation) |
Decorated / lacquered bottles | 25–35 business days after artwork approval |
Custom caps / closures | 30–45 business days |
Custom mold development | 14–20 weeks (see customisation FAQ) |
Packaging boxes (custom print) | 20–30 business days after artwork approval |
Lead times are from order confirmation and artwork sign-off, not from initial enquiry. Please factor in shipping transit time: approximately 15–25 days by sea freight to Europe/US, or 3–5 days by air express.
Do you ship worldwide? How is fragile glass packaged for shipping?
We ship to 70+ countries. Glass packaging is a specialist area — we use inner carton cells (dividers), foam cushioning, and export-grade outer cartons rated for sea freight. Break rates on arrival are consistently below 0.3%.
We can ship on an EXW, FOB, or CIF basis. If you have a preferred freight forwarder, we can hand over at our factory gate (EXW WUXI) with full commercial invoice, packing list, and COO documentation.
For clients new to importing from China, we can recommend trusted freight partners who specialise in cosmetic glass.
What are typical production lead times for custom glass perfume bottles, and how do they changefor repeat orders?
New tooling projects run 45–60 days from mould approval to first production sample, with bulk delivery following 25–35 days after sample sign-off. Repeat orders against an existing mould are fulfilled in 20–30 days depending on decoration complexity. We maintain a safety stock programme for key accounts, pre-producing undecorated blanks so that decorated finished goods can ship within 15 days of artwork approval — critical for launch windows in the EU and US retail calendar.
Do you manage export documentation and compliance for shipments to the EU, UK, and NorthAmerica, including dangerous-goods classification for fragrance components?
Yes — our logistics team prepares full export documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin (Form A / EUR.1 where applicable), and material safety data sheets. For fragrance pump heads shipped with residual solvent, we handle IATA Packing Instruction 950 and IMDG Class 3 classification as needed. We work with approved forwarders on FCL and LCL sea freight to Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Los Angeles, and New York, and can coordinate DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms for clients who prefer a single-invoice landed cost.
What quality certifications and testing do you carry out?
Our quality process follows AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspection standards at three stages: incoming raw glass, in-process, and final pre-shipment. Standard tests include:
Dimensional tolerancesLeakage test (pump actuation)Coating adhesion (crosshatch)Drop testChemical resistanceColour consistency (spectrophotometer)
Third-party inspection (SGS, BV, Intertek) can be arranged at your request prior to shipment. REACH compliance documentation is available for all coating materials on request.
Is your glass compatible with alcohol-based perfumes and fragrance oils?
Yes. Our soda-lime flint glass is chemically inert and fully compatible with ethanol-based fragrances (standard EDPs and EDTs), as well as oil-based attars and roll-ons. Glass does not react with your formula or alter the scent profile.
For highly concentrated fragrance oils (>50% oud or essential oil concentration), we recommend confirming compatibility with your filling partner as well, particularly with regard to any internal coatings or wads in the pump mechanism.
How do you ensure colour and finish consistency across multiple production batches, and what AQLinspection standard applies?
We apply AQL 2.5 (Level II) as our standard incoming and outgoing inspection protocol, with critical defects — chip, crack, foreign inclusion — held to AQL 0. Colour consistency for lacquered and screen-printed finishes is measured against approved master samples using a spectrophotometer (ΔE ≤ 1.0). For multi-batch campaigns, a retained first-article sample is stored in our QC library for the lifetime of the mould, providing an objective reference for every subsequent shipment.
What quality certifications does your factory hold, and are your bottles compatible with EUCosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and US FDA requirements?
Our manufacturing facility operates under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22716 (GMP for cosmetics packaging). Glass compositions are compliant with EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and US FDA 21 CFR Part 700 series for cosmetic contact materials — migration test reports are available upon request. For North American prestige retail (Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom), we can provide retailer-specific compliance documentation as part of our standard quality dossier.
Do you offer recycled glass or sustainable packaging options?
Yes. We offer several routes to a lower-footprint bottle:
PCR glass — Post-Consumer Recycled glass content available on selected bottle models (up to 30% PCR). Colour and clarity may vary slightly vs. virgin flint glass; we provide samples for approval.
Lightweighting — Reducing wall thickness reduces material use and shipping weight. Available on custom mold projects.
Refillable design — We can modify existing bottles or develop new ones with a refillable mechanism (inner cartridge or re-sealable base). Growing demand from EU brands ahead of the EU Packaging Regulation.
Water-based lacquers — Lower VOC coating option available as an alternative to solvent-based lacquering.
Can you provide environmental data for our packaging compliance reports?
We can provide the following documentation on request:
Material composition certificatesREACH compliance lettersRecyclability statementsPCR content verificationCoating VOC data sheets
Full LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) data per SKU is currently in development. If you need specific data for EU EPR compliance or a brand sustainability report, contact us and we will do our best to support your requirements.
Are your folding cartons and packaging components FSC-certified, and can you support refillable orXmono-material design briefs?
Our carton board supply chain is FSC-certified (Chain of Custody), and we can provide Chain of Custodydocumentation for brand ESG reporting. For clients developing refillable fragrance formats – a rapidlygrowing segment in EU and North American prestige retail – we engineer precision-fit inner bottle guides,snap-fit mechanisms, and magnetic closures that allow consumers to replace the inner glass while retainingthe outer shell. Mono-material pump heads (all-polypropylene disassembly-free format) are available forbrands targeting recyclability certification under the UK On-Pack Recycling Label or How2Recycle schemes.
